Mexico was Great! Enough with the mexican food though.
We spent just over a week in the area of Cancun the first week of August. It was a nice break from reality, although, we must admit, we missed the reality of having Abe around. We were bursting (especially nan) to see him by the time we got home. That little dude is seriously cool, as those of you who know him can attest. We have a slight bias though and so we really get a kick out of just about every little thing he does.
Anyway, back to Cancun, I'm going to post a few photos here, and perhaps a photo album in the other section.
This is Nan walking off the ferry into Playa Del Carmen after we came back from Cozumel. Muchos mexicanos around.
A nice beach to chill on called playa palancar at the south end of Cozumel.
Eating paletas to cool down at the end of a hot day while we did some laundry.
Yal-Ku -- This was one of the coolest areas we snorkeled. Its a lagoon on the coast in Akumal, tons of cool little caves to dive through and a lot of cool fish. We saw a ray just 5 or 10 feet below us in the lagoon.
This is a lake called cenote cristal. It goes into a cave farther back with really cool dropoffs that go down farther than can be seen.
Nan catching some waves...she had to teach me how to do it, because I was no good.
We are sitting on top of the biggest Mayan temple at Chichenitza looking down at an accompanying ruin. It's a pretty impressive place.
As I said, Nan was bursting her buttons to see Abe when we got home, he wasn't quite as excited as you can see. He got there though, apparently he was just waking up.

what a fun trip! I just barely saw these pictures for the first time today. Chichenitza looks awesome! And I loved this last picture...Nan has a HUGE smile and Abe is like...zzz...sleepy head.
