PHOENIX!

Last week the kids and I drove to Utah with my friend Rebecca to visit family. We enjoyed all of it except for the last day when we all had the stomach flu (thanks again, Mom for those 12 loads of laundry you did!) Just five hours after we returned to Colorado, Aaron the kids and I took a family trip to Phoenix for El Tour De Phoenix and to visit friends. We had a TON of fun! Matt Jenson, Spencer Shaffer and his training buddy as well as Aaron's former boss Steve Wilson met us for the race and Aaron enjoyed riding with each of them for portions of the race. Aaron loved the ride, despite having to break his own wind for the majority of the time. He was riding with the lead pack, but unfortanely lost them at mile 10 when he had to stop for 10+ minutes to fix a flat tire. He got a great workout in though and I'm sure will be benifitted physically for his hard work. The kids and I enjoyed haging out with Ashley and her boys while the men raced and we all enjoyed a yummy lunch afterwards. We stayed with our friends Anika and Keith Busby through conference weekend and Monday. Anika is a former BYU teammate of mine so I of course loved going running with her while we were there. Saturday night we played games and ate cake for Keith's birthday. Sunday night we drove to southern Phoenix to visit my college roomate, Jackie Peterson and her family. Then on Monday we drove to Montezuma's Castle and had a picnic with the kids. Beauty trip! Thanks, Busbys for your kind hospitality and fun times!

Montezuma's castle: A cool tree near our picnic spot at Montezuma's Castle. Abe loved playing with Anika's daughter Kayla.
