Dad's Funeral

For those of you who didn't hear, my Dad passed away last week after a 7 year battle with Cancer. I've sort-of dreaded this event pretty much for the past 7 years, but it ended up being a very peaceful, spiritual experience for me. It happened just how Dad wanted it; his family surrounded him before and right after his passing and Mom and Jeff were there with him as he passed. He was quite alert and even kept his sense of humor until his final days. You wouldn't have known by his happy countenance, but he was suffering, so we felt relief and joy for his Spirit to finally be released. We had a nice viewing and funeral for him and I was comforted to see so many people who's life he affected and to hear all the good things people had to say about Dad. He is a GREAT Father to me. I will miss seeing him, but I am grateful for the example he has set and for my knowledge that I will see him again.
